Balancing toy (3-72M)

Wobble, flop, laugh, strengthen. This balancing toy for babies and children from 3 months to 6 years old is called bObles Chicken and was developed in Denmark with pediatric physical therapists. This balance board toy will accompany you for a long time, and so that you can fully explore all of its diverse play possibilities together, we will of course also include the matching instructions for many great balance games.

In the first year of life, the baby balance board encourages tummy time and head lifting, the careful development towards unlimited, independent sitting with a straight back and good head control, as well as other motor skills such as standing up. Once your child is a bit older, many great balance games await you, as well as jumping, running, and, of course, lots of fun! Through this toy, Paul and Lori will introduce you to eleven elements of fundamental motor development in children.

Tummy Time & Head Lifting
From the 3rd month, the baby balance board is ideal for practicing tummy time, lifting the head, and developing the necessary back and neck muscles for it. Furthermore, the rocking motion and the associated shift in balance are an exciting new experience and at the same time an important learning process for your baby.

How it works:
Place the wobble board with the round (convex) side on the floor. Then place your baby in the tummy position on the flat side so that their head and legs can wobble up and down. When your baby feels secure, gently rock the balance board back and forth. Make sure your baby does not get scared. You can encourage your baby to lift their head with interest by interacting with them, using a toy, or, as a special Paul & Lori insider tip, with a mirror.

Sitting & Balance
At 6 - 7 months, babies have all the requirements for sitting. They can hold their head securely and their muscles provide sufficient stability.
At 9 - 12 months, babies can normally sit freely and securely without much help.
At 12-18 months, babies learn to sit securely on moving or uneven surfaces, as well as in a deep squat.

How it works:
Balance game: Place the wobble board with the round (convex) side on the floor. Then sit your baby on the flat side so they can rock forward and back or left and right. Make sure you hold your baby securely at all times at the beginning (supported sitting). Later, you can let your baby use the balance board as a stool (flat side on the floor). Only at an age over one year will your baby be able to sit freely on the wobbly side without your support.

Crawling, Pulling Up, Pushing Off & Standing Up
At 5 to 12 months, the transition from creeping to crawling begins. During this, babies push themselves up from the tummy position with their arms and begin to crawl away. Only later are the legs pushed through to slowly stand up. The bObles Chicken offers your baby the perfect height and characteristics for this developmental step.

How it works:
With the curved side facing up, you can let your baby explore this bObles balance board from all sides and eventually pull themselves up on it. This playfully strengthens their core and lower back muscles. Let your baby have their own experiences and do not actively help them pull themselves up or stand, but ensure you can catch them if they should fall backward onto their back during their first climbing attempts.

Balancing, Jumping & Running
At over 16 months, toddlers begin to perfect their movements. By balancing, jumping, and running, children gradually develop better awareness of their own body. They learn to control their posture, their movements, and their muscle tension. This promotes body awareness and perception, which in turn forms the foundation for healthy motor development.

How it works:
Place the wobble board with the round (convex) side on the floor. Let your child climb up, balance on the curve, and hop off. Let your child develop their own balance games in peace now. Once your child is older, they will also try to balance on the wobbly side or set the wobble board upright to jump over it. bObles Balance Board Material and Cleaning:
This toy is made of highly abrasion-resistant and age-resistant EVA foam (free from phthalates or other toxins) and is therefore easy to clean as well as water-repellent. We therefore recommend using a soft cloth for cleaning (optionally with neutral dish soap). You can also use lint rollers, disinfectant alcohol/hand gel, or even take the wobble board into the bathtub with you.
By the way: Because this balance board is made of EVA foam and not wood, it will not damage your parquet floor while playing and is absolutely comfortable, lightweight & safe for your child.
