  • Use sounds purposefully, e.g., shake it outside the field of vision and then reveal it, to help understand cause and effect
  • Briefly place it in their hand to promote initial tactile experiences and a sense of touch (grasping is usually still reflexive)
  • Combining it with calm speaking, eye contact, and facial expressions strengthens social interaction and bonding
  • Use stimuli in moderation, as babies can easily become overstimulated
  • If there are signs of tiredness or restlessness → take a break
  • The focus is not on active playing, but on gentle, brief, and development-promoting stimuli
